This sounds like a networking issue of where the devices may not be on same network. Once that is established then try going through the router or change to an unmanaged or simple hub. You should try to connect to the panel directly from computer to HMI first. Again make sure that panel is in transfer mode. by right clicking on device in project, down to "HMI device maintenance", then to "Updating OS" and see if it finds panel. If this panel has never been downloaded to,then it likely has the latest OS image on it which is probably V13's image.
If you have a selection for ethernet, I would try it too to see if it finds the IP address, and once found and downloaded, you should be able to select PN/IE again from the download dialog box.Ħ. When trying to download to it, the panel in the settings (transfer settings) of device, it is likely set to PN/IE and therefore from your download dialog box in Portal it should also be set to pg/pc interface drop down as PN/IE. Make sure that the panel is in transfer mode where it is displaying message "waiting for host." meaning it's ready.ĥ. You should also DISABLE on computer: any ports not being used, wireless port, windows firewall, and any anti-virus.Ĥ. If the panel needs to communicate through the router (or gateway), then on the panel in its' transfer settings on the device, where you set ip address and subnet you will see place for router(or gateway) there too.ģ. If using a router(or gateway) and it has an ip address, then it must be set either in computer's set pg/pc interface above which would be located directly under the IP address and subnet of the properties of your local area connection. It should also be on same subnet of HMI with the exception that IP address of your computer at least differs by one number in octet being masked.for exampleĬomputer 192.168.2.2 with subnet of 255.255.255.0 Should be the name of network card, tcpip or tcpip.1 active. Make sure that on the computer's windows control panel, under the "Set PG/PC interface" icon, that the access point of application is set to S7ONLINE STEP7 and the interface is the local area connection network card that is being used and cable is plugged into.
